New fav copy pasta I found that I will put here for easy copy paste...
Beware the Flying Urayuli. All will fear the FLYING URAYULI. Unruly children will be CAPTURED by the FLYING URAYULI. Beware my words, and listen well. In the night lies the FLYING URAYULI. With the COMING OF THE DARKNESS, and the awaiting of the dawn. In those hours, at the darkest moments, the FLYING URAYULI will come for ye toes. I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. IT'S WHAT CAME OVER YOU, THE FLYING-

MDZS Inscryption AU maybe?
So I've been massively hyperfixating on Inscryption thanks to my good friend @sasukimimochi and I got an idea for an AU
If you don't know what I'm on about, here's a Wikipedia entry for it, if you do know, strap in.
This is based off Act I of the game:
-Wei Wuxian dies when he's thrown into the Burial Mounds
-Wakes up to a board game with a shadowy figure that reveals itself as the manifestation of the Burial Mounds and proposes a game
-If Wei Wuxian wins, he will be brought back to life. If he doesn't, he stays dead and trapped forever in the BM, so he agrees to play
-Unbeknownst to him, the way he uses the cards influences the life he will get if he wins
-All the sacrifices he makes are people that are going to die in the life he will have
-The powerful cards are the people that will participate in his demise in some way
-He wins the game, awakes, invents demonic cultivation, canon ensues
-At some point he realizes the manner in which people are dying is the way he played against the Burial Mounds and sacrifices himself to beat it
Here is my idea for the card pack:
Eternal sacrifice cat - Yanli
Squirrels - random people that die in Nightless City
Grizzly - NMJ
Great white - Lan Wangji
Black goat - Qin Su
Urayuli - Wen Ning
Mirror tentacle - Mo Xuanyu
Mantis god - Jiang Cheng
Child 13 - Jin Guangyao
Glitched card - turns into a sacrifice card: Jin Zixuan
Ants - Wen remnants
Ouroboros - Lan Xichen
Rattler - Xue Yang
Rat king - Wen Chao
Skink - Wang Lingjao
If y'all have any thoughts, feel free to add on!

BG3 characters but it’s what Inscryption decks they would use (Spoilers for BG3)
Shadowheart uses a Magick deck Typically sticks to using only one color of Mox at a time in order to build resources- tends to favor Blue Mox. Used to have a Beast deck, but she doesn’t play with it much anymore. A Selune aligned Shadowheart does mix Beasts/Magick! She notably has a caged alpha card. A Shar aligned Shadowheart uses an Undead/Magick deck
Lae’zel uses a Beast deck Makes use of stacking Beast cards such as the Ants- has a firm belief that the best defense is a good offense. Late game Lae’zel also has Hydras and an Oroboros
Astarion uses an Undead deck He has several brittle cards that he’ll throw out while something like a Mummy Lord grows in the background, trying to keep his opponent busy while stronger cards grow on the side lines. Ascended Astarion has a Beast/Undead hybrid deck- mostly utilizes Goats, Cats, and Wolves from his Beast half- most of which have sigils to supply more blood or bones when sacrificed.
Wyll uses a Beast deck His deck is mostly Bird based to pass by his foe’s cards and attack them directly, though he does have a few Adders as well. A Devil-turned Wyll also utilizes Orange Mox cards alongside his Beasts.
Gale uses a Magick deck He’s very proud of his collection of rare Mox Master cards. He typically has a hybrid deck utilizing two of the three Mox colors, though he has been known to occasionally use all three at once through hybrid cards. Incredibly strategic in his use of sigils and resources- typically low on offense cards, but he’s chalked full of utility and can and will drag his opponents into card starvation
Karlach uses a Beast deck Notably has a few Undead cards from her time in the Hells, but not enough to call it a hybrid deck. She has several high cost hard hitting cards, like the Great White, Grizzly, and Moose, as well as several heavy defense cards (like the Tortoise & Mole Man). To try and balance out the high blood cost of her deck, she has several blood suppling cards- like the Squirrel Ball and a Black Goat.
Halsin uses a Beast/Magick deck He has a lot of high cost powerhouse cards like Grizzlies & a Urayuli, though he typically makes use of smaller cheaper creatures like Beavers and adolescent Wolves/Stags & Mantises. He also notably has a Squirrel Ball & tends to utilize Green Mox (but has been known to use the other two before)
Minthara uses a Tech/Undead deck Almost everything she has comes with a Spike Sigil. Makes good use of energy cards & stim builds, utilizing low cost Brittle cards to buy her time. She also has several dozen Bolt/Bone Hounds
Jaheira uses a Beast deck She makes use of movement based cards, particularly favoring Stags. Notably also has a collection of Mantis Gods
Minsc uses a Beast deck Boo chooses cards, Minsc plays them. Has a lot of defense based cards- like Beavers, Tortoises, and Mole Men- as well as a Grizzly that he says reminds him of Boo.
Orin uses an Undead/Beast deck All of her Beasts are for sacrificing/building up her Undead cards in a quick manner (almost always starts with her Beast cards before switching to Undead ones roughly halfway through the game) Very notably has a Ijiraq card as well as a few Amalgams.
Gortash uses a Tech deck He has a lot of trap cards to whittle down a careless opponent’s deck as well a notable amount of Sentry & Sniper cards. Also those terrible Explode Bots/Bomb Latchers. A lot of his cards are pretty delicate, but he’s not above leveling out the playing field by bombing all of it.
Ketheric uses an Undead/Beast deck Has several cards that give him resources upon death. He relies heavily on hard defenses and stacking attacks- has several Caged Alphas and a Long Elk. He has has a nasty habit of having a Spike Sigil on a lot of his cards, so getting past his defenses can be quite the task.
Bonus!
Durge uses a Beast deck Lots of Blood Cats and high blood cost cards in this deck. Notably also has a few Undead cards in the interest of not letting a resource their Beast’s make go to waste. (Has a few coyote cards that they lovingly refer to as their gnollies)

So, I was thinking, what species are the scrybes? Like, Leshy is obviously a leshy (a Slavic forest spirit,) P03 is a robot/android, Grimora is probably some sort of undead, a ghoul maybe. But Magnificus? That motherfucker is an enigma. I, however, have two theories.
Theory 1: Magnificus is a tree animated by magic (or, in Inscryption, "magick.")
Theory 2: Magnificus is an Urayuli. He looks similar enough to the Urayuli card, but he's weaker, and smaller, than Urayulis are normally, so, perhaps he's a runt Urayuli who learned "magick" to make up for his weakness. I mean, even him having neon eyes makes sense because "real" Urayulis are thought to have luminescent eyes.
Let me know what you all think.

Thinking about how the four scrybes are implied to have slowly turned into animals after Leshy captured them. What's that mean for the rest of the animal cards, then? How many of the cards we play used to be other challengers, other people? Is it possible that with enough time the deathcards we create would also begin to shift into animalistic forms? I know it's game logic, but there's not much wildlife around Leshy's island, or any of the others infact, not that there's much space for them anyways. Did Leshy specifically will them into turning into the animals they've become, or is there some sort of defining trait that determines which animal you become? Is it their fuckin fursonas. That's cr 📸

Is it like, spirit animals? It seems the camera literally sucks your soul out and leaves your corpse behind (you can see the corpses of P03 and Magnificus peeking out from behind the stack of boxes), so is it like the soul assuming a more animalistic, primal form? Stoats are pretty cunning, so I guess it's fitting for someone like P03, someone that's all about mind games, to be turned into one. Can't really make sense of why Magnificus becomes a wolf honestly, I'm not exactly educated in this regard, but according to a quick search wolves as spirit animals can represent intuition and wisdom, which does fit Magnificus I suppose. Stinkbug? That's simple buddy! Grimora stinks quite bad! (In all seriousness I can't make sense of that one) I also wonder why they begin to turn back over time. It seems like it was specifically brought on by mingling with the other Scrybes. My assumption is they've spent so long isolated from eachother they began to settle into their more animalistic forms, forgetting, slowly eroding to their most basic traits, but as they begin plotting their escape and interacting with eachother the memories begin to turn them back into their more complex representations. I'm wondering if cards like Ouroboros, Urayuli, Amalgam and the like were part of the natural ecosystem of Inscryption's world, or past challengers/NPCs that spent so long as cards they turned into these strange and peculiar creatures. What animal do you think you'd become I think I'd be a cool and peculiar termite

inscryption knowledge?
this is for people who are interested in how inscryption works a bit more than surface level, with the surface knowledge i have. is this catalogued elsewhere? i don’t know! probably? but i’d like to share my knowledge. please tell me if anyone knows if someone has looked into or further researched what i talk about!
disclaimer: this applies mostly for act one of inscryption, and also kaycee’s mod. i’m currently replaying the entire game ( at my own pace ) to try and experiment further, as further as console can, but most of my experience lays with act one and kaycee’s mod by extension. also this is long, but there’s a tldr below.
so, inscryption is predetermined. being more specific, every encounter is predetermined by the game. the best example, and reasoning for this, is through the campfires. in kaycee’s mod, after you place a creature next to the fire, you have the option to leave it there, which is basically a glorified coin flip—50% to be consumed, 50% to be left alone. but, if you’ve noticed from attempted save scumming, is that the same result happens every time.
further example being, i put down a mantis and leave it. after i leave it, it stays. regardless of how many times i go back before i leave the campfire and repeat this, with different cards, this encounter will always have the same result—the card will always stay.
all encounters, from the prospector’s “ gamble, “ what cards you get from a certain tribe, to the example above, is all predetermined and saves before and after an encounter to, what i believe, try and keep odds as neutral as possible and to prevent basic save scumming. this also applies to the starting hand you receive in each battle, along with the order of cards you pull as well. each is already predetermined, so no matter how many times you back out and go back in, it’s the same every time to prevent you from trying to tip the odds in your favor, at least, in a way the game doesn’t want you to do.
this, i assume, is more common knowledge, but what i haven’t seen anyone point out is deathcards.
when inscryption first came out ( i had been following it since its was still “ sacrifices must be made “ ) i watched manlybadasshero play it, and he was able to create the “ manly “ card, a card that has 7 damage and 7 health, with no cost, and with bifurcated strike and touch of death. this was done with a pelt card, a urayuli card, and a mantis with touch of death. very strong, but when i was able to play inscryption myself, i noticed something.
i was able to create almost the exact same card, with zero cost and 7 damage + health with the exact same cards he used. i just didn’t have a mantis, so i ended up using the adder for touch of death. odd enough, right?
after restarting inscryption, on my first run, i picked a urayuli and managed to use it to get pass the angler fight even after the eight bears, and continue forward, gaining more cards than i was supposed to. i decided to create a mantis with touch of death, intentionally die, and create my death card. and, wouldn’t you know?
i didn’t have a pelt, but with the same cards, i was able to replicate the exact same card again, just with one cost. my cost, instead of a pelt there, consisted of the choices of a river snapper, a wolf, and a wolf cub. and, when i check manly’s video again, this is what i see.

i have reason to believe, at this moment, that the cards chosen to create your deathcard aren’t random at all. like the rest of the game, the cards that you can choose from not only are determined by your deck, but also have a certain “ weight “ to them depending on what run / reset you’re on, which allows your game to “ choose “ the strength of the deathcards you create. depending on how it works, this theoretically means you could replicate the exact same deathcard each time.
TLDR: each event in the game is predetermined to prevent you from skewing the odds in your favor. i also think this extends to deathcards, and have a system which determines the strength of your deathcards. i think this could be abused to create overpowered deathcards each time.
i’m going to do further investigation, as much as i can with console. i hope you enjoy inscryption as much as i do! ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭

What are your favorite user-playable cards from (non-Kaycee) Act 1?
Mine are the Cockroach, Daus, and Strange Larva.
Definitely The Daus and Urayuli. Both kinda meh but they're my favorites visually and some of the most interesting to build. If ever Inscryption's system gets used again in some capacity I'd love to see a card like the Daus be expanded upon.

Propaganda for Urayuli:
No propaganda has been submitted for Urayuli yet.
Propaganda for Caraglow:
"This little fella is a playful feline friend, they're seen as a sign of good luck and will often guide travelers through dark caves with their light. They also have great healing powers and is one of the best healers in the game through the ability to remove debuffs as they heal."

More inscryption cards
This is the first post of the cards I've been making
Leshy

For the crown of this gift comes a personal request from our recipient. Died on the 24 of May; some say the King of rats was a dirty old man. Well... An old man he was and such was the burdens he got death won´t be enough payment to take them off.

The rats
For anyone interested, the sigils work like this:
The shield in the rat king is the king symbol, if the king was about to receive damage, a rat with the common shield symbol is to take it instead. Since the rat king is a special card it's gimmick is 2 rats, one each turn.
The rotting sigil on the king works similar to a fragile sigil; but after three turns where the card turns weaker (thus the bleeding heart) it switched to the fragile sigil and adds +9 damage.
Honestly the card would be useless compared to urayuli, but I take it some kind of weird ticking bomb card where the rats prevent a very early death (plus looks cool).

Should I pull my teeth?

Surprise post! Needed a quick break from my current project and had an itch to do something a little silly. So, many of you may know the Urayuli from a wonderful little game called Inscryption, but it is an actual creature from North American folklore. It's basically the Alaskan cousin of Bigfoot. Anyway, what made me want to make it has nothing to do with the creature itself, but something that happened to it during Markiplier's playthough of Inscryption that became a running joke, that being the almighty Flying Urayuli. I instantly fell in love with the silliness of it all and wanted to make it just for the Hell of it. Also fun fact, it has 7 hit dice and a +7 to hit, just like in the game. So now the unruly children in your games will fear the FLYING URAYULI!
